Betty Shabazz Academy has a strong commitment to academic excellence and a devotion to embracing our culture. We understand that it takes a village to raise a child. We take pride in our scholastic achievements.

This year close to 50% of our 8th graders are accepted into a selective enrollment high school. We are celebrating five of these students that have been selected into schools that are within the top 5 high schools in the state of Illinois. Approximately 18,000 students qualified for 3,200 seats.

To provide a safe environment and an academically rigorous program of instruction that integrates and balances cultural knowledge and promotes excellence in reading, oral and written language, mathematics, science, technology, social studies, and the arts and humanities.
